Founded in 2006, Health In Harmony (HIH) — a 501(c)3 non-profit organization — has developed a sustainable, long-term model to address the challenge of global environmental conservation. HIH’s mission is to affirm the powerful link between human and environmental health, with a practical focus on providing quality healthcare as both a safety net and an incentive for local communities to protect irreplaceable natural resources. HIH’s annual budget of $350,000 currently supports the operation of the ASRI Clinic in Indonesia, an organization of 70+ employees that administers an innovative, community-based human and environmental health program. Headquartered in Portland, Oregon, HIH employs five full-time and part-time staff. HIH’s Board of Directors has committed to growing the organization, by raising funds to build a teaching hospital in Indonesia and, ultimately, to support replication around the world.
