HIH has been selected as an Honorable Mention in the Health, Pandemic Response, and General Excellence categories as part of Fast Company’s 2021 World Changing Ideas Awards.
May 4, 2021 Portland — We are excited to announce that our rainforest conservation and planetary health work in Brazil has been recognized in Fast Company’s 2021 World Changing Ideas list, which honors the businesses, policies, projects, and concepts that are actively engaged and deeply committed to pursuing innovation when it comes to solving health and climate crises, social injustice, or economic inequality.
Health In Harmony’s program in the Amazon rainforest in Brazil and Pandemic Response in Indonesia & Madagascar have been recognized as honorable mentions in the pandemic response, health and general excellence categories from more than 3,000 entries across the globe.
“The best climate crisis solutions benefit humanity and nature,” says Jonathan Jennings, Executive Director, Health In Harmony.
“At Health In Harmony, we trust the experts: the people who actually live in the rainforests of Brazil, Indonesia and Madagascar. They design Planetary Health Systems. And whether we live in Stockholm, Nairobi, or New York City, we can all learn from that. We’re grateful to be mentioned among Fast Company’s list of world-changing ideas that are benefitting people and the planet.”
“There is no question our society and planet are facing deeply troubling times. So, it’s important to recognize organizations that are using their ingenuity, impact, design, scalability, and passion to solve these problems,” says Stephanie Mehta, editor-in-chief of Fast Company.
