Erika is a Brazilian psychiatrist with training in primary care and a professor at the Federal University of Pará Medical School. Erika also worked with riverine and Indigenous communities in Altamira that were relocated due to the construction of the Belo Monte Dam.

At SAMA Health In Harmony, Erika works with communities along the Xingu River to provide healthcare services including telemedicine, and coordinates efforts with the university.
