Etty Rahamawati

Etty Rahmawati works as the manager of Planetary Health Education at ASRI, based in West Kalimantan, Indonesia. Her role includes managing the kids and teen education program, community outreach education, teacher training and planetary health education. She also represents ASRI with the Education Department and the Department of Public Housing, Residential Areas and the Environment in advising and evaluating schools with environmentally-based missions in the regency.

Etty received her bachelor’s degree in English Education. She joined ASRI in 2009, after working as an English tutor in Bali for five years. She started her career at ASRI as a community outreach and volunteer coordinator. Her main  responsibility was raising awareness of the communities about the connection between human health and environmental health. For her dedication in environmental education, she was awarded Disney Conservation Hero in 2014 and was selected as one of the Indonesia Women’s Earth Alliance Accelerator Leaders in 2021. 

Serving communities through education is her passion. She believes that education has the power to change for the better world.
