Farah Nabil
In her role as Partnerships Associate, Farah works closely with the Chief Partnerships Officer and team to accelerate growth and respond to the climate crisis. With expertise in writing and managing large and government grants, she oversees the preparation and submission of innovative proposals, coordinates with internal departments and external partners on grant implementation, and develops donor stewardship plans. This role contributes to HIH’s scale-up goals and actively supports the organization’s mission to protect hundreds of millions of hectares of rainforest.
Prior to joining Health in Harmony, Farah was deeply involved in global health, focusing on areas that resonated with her passion for research, grant, and program management. Her work often took her to many countries across West Africa, where she contributed to gender considerations in health research and explored gender-sensitive bioethics at a political and regulatory level. Farah’s interest in global health also led her to study HIV prevention in sub-Saharan Africa and the burden of non-communicable diseases in African populations in Spain.
Farah has a Bachelor of Pharmacy and a MSc in Clinical Research & International Health where she specialized in sex- and gender-based analysis of HIV research and programs. She is expected to defend her PhD in Health Sciences by December 2023. Her PhD dissertation aims to reduce systemic homophobia in the Senegalese healthcare system through capacity building.
When she’s not working, Farah loves to knit her own clothes, read fiction novels, travel, and learn to cook recipes from cuisines all around the world.
