Frank Tsai

Frank has been a partner of FLG Partners, a national firm of CFOs, since 2006. He has more than 40 years of senior financial and operational management for public, private companies and non-profit organizations ranging from start-ups to $500+ million in revenue and over $2 Billion in assets.  

Frank spent more than 10 years working in managed care, including starting an HMO in Chicago and working as the CFO the largest John Hancock Insurance HMO in Atlanta, GA.  He moved to San Francisco Bay Area to be the CEO of a 40’ Act a socially responsible mutual fund, called Working Assets Money Fund and registered investment adviser. He has more than 10 years as CFO for large senior living companies.

His focus is as interim CFO and has worked in financial services, software, health care services companies and non-profit organizations. He is experienced with merger and acquisitions including leading the due diligence and post-close integration of 15+ acquisitions.

Frank holds a Master’s in Public Health (MPH) from the University of Minnesota, and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

He is a founder and the audit chair of Community Bank of the Bay, a billion-dollar community development financial institution (CDFI) bank with branches in Oakland, Danville San Jose and San Mateo California.
