Hanitra Nirina Veronantenaina
In her role as midwife, Hanitra works to promote a deeper awareness of reproductive and women’s health. She provides healthcare services in the areas of family planning, prenatal consultation, and delivery. Hanitra is responsible for both maternal and pediatric health, with previous experience in behavioral health.
Hanitra joined HIH Madagascar in 2021, supporting community healthcare efforts through mobile clinics, in addition to her duties as a midwife. She aims to provide high quality healthcare to women and babies, cares for mothers throughout their pregnancy and delivery, and provides antenatal care for mother and baby. Hanitra’s goal is to reduce maternal and infant mortality in addition to raising awareness of family planning to reduce poverty levels.
Prior to joining Health In Harmony, Hanitra received her Master of Science in Education Training after three years of experience in clinical mobile health outreach. She previously worked for the NGO PSI (Population Service Internationale) Madagascar and Marie Stopes Madagascar (MSM), specializing in reproductive and maternal-child health.
