Melissa helps to manage the internal organizational systems, tools, and policies to ensure optimal efficiency, compliance, and functional workflow in order to successfully further HIH’s ambitious goals and mission.

Melissa has held leadership roles in integrated community healthcare organizations for the past eight years, most recently as general manager of a health cooperative in Portland, OR. Melissa’s professional background includes clinical work in Ayurvedic medicine, meditation, and yoga. She has a knack and passion for operationalizing policies and organizational goals, and for connecting people to resources to best thrive in a shared vision for the health of people, animal, and planet. 

Melissa previously served in Americorps through the environmentally focused Northwest Service Academy, now known as Confluence Environmental Center, and she holds a BA in International Relations and German with an emphasis in international business management.
