Health In Harmony leads health roundtables at COP28

HIH schedule at COP28 showing events on December 1, 2, and 6

“Our mission - in coalition with the Pawanka Fund and Woodwell Climate Research Centre - is to demonstrate an alternative mechanism for transferring finances directly into Indigenous Peoples' and Local Rainforest Communities' intersectional solutions, precisely because 27 COPs have yet to deliver solutions anywhere near the magnitude of the climate crisis.”

Jonathan Jennings, CEO - Advocacy, Talent and Operations

Joining this year’s COP28 in Dubai, Health In Harmony will build on our presence and advocacy at previous COP events, working to ensure Indigenous rainforest communities are at the center of climate and climate finance conversations.

Spotlighting approaches of listening and reciprocity as well as their proven results, HIH and accompanying delegates will participate in and lead a number of panel events and roundtables.

These will focus on urgent topics including but not limited to; intersectional climate action, following Indigenous leadership, and investing in Indigenous solutions as part of a just transition.

The team at HIH is also excited to be presenting the international launch of the Rainforest Exchange (Rx), a new coalition with partners Pawanka Fund and Woodwell Climate Research Center. Working alongside Indigenous Peoples and local communities, Rx will investing in community designed solutions and use data gathering to protect half of Earth's tropical rainforests over the next five years.

With health high on the agenda at COP28 – including the event’s first Health Pavilion – Health In Harmony will also bring fifteen years of experience of working in climate health solutions to several key COP28 talks. Alongside the World Health Organisation, HIH will join the Climate-Health Solutions Showcase on COP28 Health Day (3 December) and at WHO-IUCN's Flagship Report on Nature-based Solutions (NbS) and Human Health (6 December).

We invite anyone attending COP28 to join us in these critical climate conversations and to visit us at our booth 33 in the Blue Zone. Together, let’s turn talk into action. You can also follow Health In Harmony at COP28 on Instagram or by subscribing to our newsletter!
