The Rockefeller Foundation Highlights HIH’s CEO

Ashley Emerson, our CEO of Business and Scale, has been highlighted as a Big Bets Community Member by the Rockefeller Foundation. 

Big Bets is a community and fellowship for those passionate about combating threats to humanity like climate change and eager to be part of a dynamic community of emerging leaders working on bold solutions.

In this video, Ashley explains how her experience in development and building bridges with community leaders worldwide is applied to Health In Harmony’s vision for climate justice and advancing community-designed solutions for Planetary Health. 

“The big bet is what if we can take and significantly increase investment in rainforest communities and ask them the question: what do you need as a gift from the rest of the world as a thank you for the great work you’re doing to protect and preserve these rainforests? Because we all benefit from it.”

For impact at scale, Ashley outlines Health In Harmony’s focus on an anti-colonial approach, collective action, and the creation of sustainable systems that nurture rainforest communities’ flourishing.
