As the Reforestation Assistant, Sergio ensures the field implementation of reforestation activities around the Manombo forest. He works closely with local communities and local partners to ensure the success of reforestation activities.

In his role, he also combines conservation and health by promoting non-cash payments with seedlings to pay for health care in mobile clinics. The non-cash payments take the form of seeds, seedlings and reforestation volunteer work.

Before joining HIH in 2023, Sergio studied at the Université d’Antsirabe, with a Bachelor’s degree in Environment and Sustainable Development. He has three years of experience in various NGOs in Madagascar in both reforestation and development activities. Outside of work, he enjoys playing basketball.
