Brian G. McAdoo is an Earth and Climate Science professor at Duke University’s Nicholas School of the Environment. He specialized in understanding the cause and effects of disasters ranging from earthquakes and tsunami to tropical cyclones, floods, and landslides in Asia, the South Pacific, and the Caribbean.

Inspired by the visionary program run by Alam Sehat Lestari (ASRI), he believes the Planetary Health model is perhaps the most viable means to reduce the risk communities face from an increasingly hazardous planet by helping them become more environmentally, nutritiously, and economically resilient to shocks.
